Saw the wind building all afternoon and finally left work early and got to Ynyslas at about 4pm. Rigged 12m kite and out into the surf. Not bad but I'm not really used to the surf yet and headed down to the lagoons in the estuary. Had a fantastic time for ages on the flat water and almost met one of the 3 kiters on the Aberdovey side of the estuary on the sandbar. Headed south back to the car golf club park through the waves deliberately trying carve up and over the waves - started to find the surf easier. Wind was holding so spent some time in the surf until BANG bar disappeared up the leash line... but chicken loop still attached to harness. So I packed up the lines and back to the car. Borrowed a screwdriver (many thanks) and fixed the loop line and had another good hour in the surf while the sun set -wonderful- until the wind dropped enough that I was struggling to stay upwind in the waves. car clock said 9pm - a good 4 hours on the water... Just to really make my day I have the pump and sandbag I forgot last week back too - thanks guys!
